GLEMD is an independent, private, nonprofit social and fraternal organization. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any law enforcement agency — local, county, state, or federal. Our membership includes officers, detectives, and agents from a wide range of law enforcement entities, but GLEMD operates entirely separately from those agencies.
Membership in GLEMD confers no official law enforcement authority, status, or recognition of any kind.
GLEMD does not offer, imply, or guarantee any law enforcement benefit — overt or covert — to its members or to any person associated with the organization. This includes but is not limited to:
Any attempt to use GLEMD membership, organizational materials, or affiliation to obtain special treatment from law enforcement, or to harass, intimidate, or surveil any individual, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of membership. GLEMD cooperates fully with any law enforcement investigation into such conduct.
GLEMD members may be eligible to apply for Maryland Organizational License Plates through the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. These plates are issued as a mark of organizational membership and cultural pride only.
GLEMD reserves the right to report plate abuse to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration and any relevant law enforcement authority.
Use of this Site, our contact form, or any GLEMD digital resource for the following purposes is strictly prohibited:

By submitting a membership application or contact form, or by subscribing to GLEMD notifications, you consent to receive electronic communications from GLEMD including email and, if opted in, SMS text messages. These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Maryland.
